Teddy’s Forecast

Monday 2/5/24

Solid shot of East swell coming this week.  An are of low pressure has formed over Florida and will move off the coast by Tuesday.  The low will gain strength and slowly move NE and by Wednesday it will be directly east of Hatteras.  Seas will begin to build late Tuesday into Wednesday but NE winds will make for imperfect conditions.  Thursday morning is looking pretty good with light North winds and 5′ east groundswell at 10 seconds, so expect fairly glassy head high+ surf.  Definitely worth checking!  The winds shift to a more southerly direction late Thursday into Friday but the swell will peak in size and period Friday afternoon so give it a look.  Saturday morning will begin the swell decline but i expect it to be very fun early morning with 4-5′ ESE groundswell and light WSW winds.  Stay tuned for another forecast later this week! Have fun!

Water is in the low 40’s so full winter gear is required.
