Teddy’s Forecast

Monday 4/8/24

Good morning!  Little shot of E groundswell on Tuesday from a low well off our coast. 2’@11 seconds with light winds so could be worth checking with a longboard/midlength/alt-craft.  After that southerly flow sets in Wed/Thursday, but then a big, deep low will form in the Mississippi Valley generating very strong S winds here late Thursday overnight into Friday.  Seas will pick up rapidly and peak Friday morning in the 8-10’+ range from the S.  The associated cold front will then pass giving us stiff offshore winds.  It will take some time to clean up but Friday afternoon looks insane, especially for top CNJ spots (winds will be WSW) – should be some tubes up there! By Saturday the swell will be almost completely gone as those stiff offshore winds will beat it down overnight.  If this forecast changes I will let you know! Have fun!

Water is in the mid-upper 40’s so full winter gear is required unfortunately (you can get away with 3mm gloves and 5mm boots, but I still recommend a hood). This will change soon tho!!
